Celebrate Summer's End with Rose Lemonade

Here is a refreshing beverage that can be enjoyed throughout Indian summer. I like rose lemonade just by itself, but it makes a great accompaniment to middle eastern food, a cheese course or a dessert party. For best flavor, be sure to use a high quality rosewater... the products commonly available in drugstores or middle eastern groceries are seldom the genuine article.

1 cup      Lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1/2 cup   Honey
6 cups     Water, filtered or distilled
1 TBS      Rose hydrolat

Heat 2 cups of the water with the honey in a small saucepan until honey is completely dissolved. Pour the honey syrup into a serving pitcher. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir. Taste and add more water to dilute if necessary. Chill and serve over ice. Enjoy!
